NHS painting Service event
The other day, I went to an NHS service event in which we repainted the walls of a middle school. It necessitated a lot of cooperation among everyone, and we had to problem solve and figure out how to properly dish out the work to have maximum efficency. It was a lot of hard and strenuous work, and by the end I was very tired. Along with helping out in applying the coat of paint on the wall with the roller, I also helped a woman hang up decorations on a wall in another room, having to hammer in the stuff with a nail. I also went with a group of girls down to the dance studio and we helped in carrying a bunch of large, heavy boxes down to storage. It was a bit difficult since the boxes were so high up and pretty heavy, but we got a nice system working where we had basically someone to 'check' and immediately take the box from the person on the ladder pulling it down. Overall, it was a really great experience and I liked getting to help the school.
