Making clothes
I underwent a new project in which I have been getting into making my own clothes. I've been doing this thing where I'll cut up old clothes and revamp them. I took an old ACDC shirt from my brother and cropped it, cutting it into 2 pieces. The top part I had as a cropped t-shirt, and I used the bottom half to sew into a tube top. I also has an old dress that I didn't like the fit of. I cut it in the middle so that then I had a skirt and a crop top. After I did that, I though it would be fun to print some designs from old stamped that I had made. I printed this stamp I had of a girl onto an old sweater I got from my grrandpa in fabric paint. I also stamped patterns into an old pillow case that I cut out to make patches out of. I then sewed the patches onto the shirts and they look really good. I've been really getting into DIY and punk subculture and I find it really interesting. In a world that it run by consumerism, and fast fashion, it's hard and expensive to get clothes that are sustainable and ethical. It seems like there's no where you can shop that doesn't like exploit factory workers. I think revamping clothes is a really fun and creative way to try and make clothes last longer and be more eco-friendly while also being expressive.
