Learning and Practicing Drums
I have been taking drum lessons for about a year or two, and since I've started, I've improved a lot. While I'm still not that good, I'm at least at an intermediate level, and that's something I'm pretty proud of. I have improved a lot in my speed as well in the quality of my strokes. I've overcome my difficulty in stamina when playing quickly for a long time and now I can hold the rhythm of a quick song for the most part. I have moved on to practicing double and triple strokes, as well as other more complicated stroke patterns and rudiments such as the five stroke roll, seven stroke roll, and flam drag. I'm still having some trouble increasing the speed for some of these rudiments and holding them at a constant pace, but I'll improve with more practice. I've also gotten much better at smoothly transitioning in between a beat and the fill and being able to get back to the beat on the rhythm.
